For a while, the AliExpress mobile app had a “coins and coupons” section and another “freebie” section that usually doesn’t have much information about it. After receiving a few questions about them, we decided to create this complete guide in which we explain how they work and whether they are worth using.
Coins and coupons
To enter the coins section, you need to access the AliExpress app and search for the “coins and coupons” section. This section is only available on the AliExpress mobile app and in it we will find everything related to coins: how to get them and how to exchange them for coupons or products. It’s quite interesting if we know how it works.
How to get coins?
When you log in, you will see a coin-shaped icon at the top. If we click on it, we will get coins. On the first day, they will only give us 1 coin, but they will increase until the eighth day, and later they will give us 16 coins. But there are other ways to get coins, which we will discuss below.
How to get more chances to win a freebie? Daily Missions
If you want to have a better chance of winning a freebie, you will need more coins, and we can get them through daily quests. These are very simple missions, currently there are 3 tasks for today:
- Try to search for goods by photo, we will get 2 coins.
- Share new collection with friends, we will get 1 coin.
- Exchange coins for coupons or products, we will get 3 coins.
As you can see, all simple tasks. It’s possible they’ll change them in a few weeks, but for now, all you have to do is click on each mission’s icon and the app itself will explain how to complete them.
Plant a money tree
This is one of the games that we will find in the coins and coupons section. It’s about planting a tree and watering it every day. We can water it with free drops of water that they give us every day, and also pay extra coins to make the tree grow faster. As it grows, it will bear fruit, which in this case are rewards: coins and coupons.
The truth is that this is a rather slow game because at best we can get about thirty points every day and the tree dies for a thousand points, but it is quite exciting and the prizes are guaranteed.
TOP Discounts on Aliexpress
Although this is one of the games that AliExpress usually puts on during sales and promotions like 11.11, it looks like this game will stay on the app a little longer. All you have to do is buy a shot with coins and shoot in the direction of the arrow for coupons. If we hit, we win a discount coupon, which can vary depending on which coupon is punched out on the screen. For example, I came across 2 coupons for 2$.

Another game where you can win coupons or coins.
Rules
- One game costs 5 coins. If you exit the game without finishing it, you will lose 5 coins and the game will not save.
- In each game, you can flip 2 cards, after which you will see the winnings. You can win coins, coupons or nothing. You can win even if the cards don’t match.
- This game can be played up to 10 times a day.
What are coins for?
Coins can be exchanged for many interesting gifts that will help us save money when buying from AliExpress. Gifts are basically coupons and items (free or with a certain discount thanks to coins).
Exchange coins for coupons
For me, the best thing about getting coins is the ability to exchange them for coupons. We can get two types of coupons: AliExpress Coupons, which apply to any AliExpress purchase above a certain amount, or Merchant Coupons, which will only be useful in certain AliExpress stores.
The first, AliExpress coupons, are the hardest to get, as they are highly sought after by the site’s buyers, although they are updated every hour. We will be able to get $1, $3 or $8 coupons and we will be able to apply them on any AliExpress purchase (one or more sellers) when we reach a certain minimum amount.
The second coupons, seller coupons, are much easier to get and are a good way to save as the minimum purchase amount is usually very low. In the section dedicated to coins and coupons, you can see all the stores that offer coupons, as well as the number of coins needed to receive a coupon.
Exchange coins for items
Another option is to exchange coins for items by paying $0.01 or getting a small discount when you buy coins. Free items are almost impossible to get and are updated daily at 00:00 AM PDT. However, discounted items are much easier to obtain, although the range of items is very limited. Like almost free products, they are also updated daily.
How to exchange coins from the app?
In-app coins can be redeemed for products or coupons in the Coins & Coupons section.
Exchange of coins for goods
In the “Exchange coins for goods” section, you will see a list of goods that can be obtained for coins. Go to Coins & Coupons > Exchange coins for goods.
Open the product description page and make sure that it is available for purchase with coins. You can place an order and the amount of coins will be deducted automatically. You will need to pay US $0.01 and the required number of coins.
Exchange coins for coupons
In the “Exchange coins for coupons” section, you will see a list of coupons that can be obtained for coins. Go to Coins & Coupons > Exchange Coins for Coupons.
When exchanging coins will be deducted automatically. Coupons are available every day. The number of coupons is limited.
Coins are not added. What to do?
Coins in the AliExpress app (section “Coins and Coupons”) can be obtained through games and promotions. To see how many coins you have, go to Coins & Coupons in the AliExpress app.
For example, if you receive a notification: “Please use a different device to sign in,” your account has seen unusual activity and you may not be able to use all features. Check your account and try again.
Freebies and Reviews
The freebie section, which has recently appeared on AliExpress, is another one that we have received quite a few requests for. It’s pretty easy, we just have to access and select the products we’d like to get for $0.01 instead of its original price. We will only be able to select 2 products per day. Then all we have to do is wait, and if we are selected, pay $0.01 and check the item when it arrives.
Undoubtedly, getting free gifts is quite difficult because many people ask for them, but you will not lose anything by trying, as it is completely free and very fast.
