Most often sellers insist that they are ready to refund money if the buyer withdraws his claims and closes the dispute on the order. In such cases sellers are supposedly willing to make concessions, but ask not to spoil the shop’s rating by an arbitration decision in favour of the buyer.
How to find out your PayPal account on Aliexpress
PayPal is the largest international payment system headquartered in the US. The service allows its customers to make and receive payments from other people, as well as pay for purchases online. The payment system has nothing to do with AliExpress and therefore the two companies exist separately.
You can’t find out your PayPal account for a refund on Aliexpress if you haven’t created an account on the payment site. It simply does not exist yet.
It’s worth noting that at the moment it’s also not possible to pay for purchases on Aliexpress using a PayPal account. This is due to the fact that the trading platform has no partnerships and agreements with this payment system.
PayPal account asked for by scammers
When an Aliexpress seller asks for a PayPal account in order to get a refund, don’t agree. In all known cases the shop representative first demands to close the dispute, and then he will be ready to make a refund. Quite often, by closing the dispute, buyers are left without the goods and without any money. Once the dispute is closed, the seller simply stops replying to messages and therefore no money is to be expected either, even if you provide your PayPal account.
As a reminder, a dispute can only be opened during the protection period or up to 15 days after the expiry of the protection period. Later the buyer can no longer claim a refund from the seller. This is what dishonest sellers take advantage of, when according to the current rules of the marketplace, the buyer no longer has time or grounds for a new dispute.
To avoid being cheated by scammers – do not accept a refund request to your PayPal account. The money paid will remain in AliExpress’ accounts until you confirm receipt of your order and there are no claims from the buyer. The marketplace shall only refund the money to the account from which the payment was made and in no other way. Any claims must be resolved only through an open dispute, so the buyer is protected from the seller’s fraud as much as possible.
